Look for Less

This bronzed wrought-iron chandelier pictured below on the left resembles the Ames Ingham fixture (pictured right) that we installed over a dramatic dining room table of a Hollywood Hills project.  This version is from Pottery Barn and completely affordable at only $299.  If the Ames Ingham chandelier is out of your price range, we think this replica is a pretty chic version. 

   

Pick of the Week

Our pick this week is a vintage 1950's glass table lamp from JF Chen that we just selected for the living room of a Hollywood Hills project.  The home airs on the traditional side, but the client loves furniture and accessories that bring personality and vibrant colors.  The brass "sputnik" inside the glass allows the lamp to make a statement without losing it's classic vibe. 

Decorum Design Forum

Our friend, Paloma, at La Dolce Vita has launched Decorum Design Forum, an online forum dedicated to interior design.  This is a way for you to share ideas, receive advice, have on-going discussions, and find inspiration.

Organic Elements

No matter the style, we always incorporate something organic into our designs.  This photo was taken in the reception area of our modern loft-style office in Los Angeles and shows how a simple accessory can add comfort and warmth to an otherwise clean and minimalistic space. 

Brown Design in California Homes

Upholstery Isn't Just for Funiture

Brown Design takes their love for fabric to another level and shows that upholstery isn't just for furniture.  Seen here in our modern loft-style office, we took a conventional wood handrail and had it wrapped in white crocodile leather.  This detail compliments the clean style of the space while adding a sense of design and interest.
